2006 Galleries

Yosemite - 12/(05-07)/06 : Glacier point (4 Mile trail -- 9 miles roundtrip and 3,200 feet change in elevation) and Half Dome (Winter Trail -- about 18 miles and 4,800 feet in elevation) in two days. Over all, about 30 miles of solo hiking. I saw 5 people the first day on the trail and only one person near Half Dome.

Winter Trip: Champaign, IL : January 24-26. Drove 250 miles to Champaign and stayed with the Ghrists. Gave a talk at the theory seminar and drove 140 miles up to Chicago to end the "prairie" portion of the trip.

Winter Trip: Minneapolis, MN : Januray 19-22 - Drove 280 miles to Minneapolis (and back), gave a talk at the IMA, and went to the Prairie Home Companion. We also saw the first game of the inaugural US Pond Hockey championship. It featured the Governor playing the Mayors of St. Paul and Minneapolis. The Mall of America was not that impressive :(
