Weekend of 10/17/09: Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival, Diwali @ Gurjeet's, and Daniel & Lena's Housewarming Party. Warning: iPhone pictures.

Afra > On Saturday, Daniel and Lena were good sports, woke up at 7, and drove me to Half Moon Bay for the Pumpkin Festival, and more importantly, pumpkin pancake breakfast.

Afra > Saturday night, Gurjeet invited me to their Diwali party. There was a lot of excellent, north Indian, vegetarian food, that were subtly flavored and spiced. I ate a lot. (Lots of people present, but I only took one photo.)

Afra > On Sunday, it was Daniel and Lena's Housewarming party

Afra > Lena: barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen, or in other words, a Russian archetype. (This was pointed out by her, not us.)

Afra > Smoked duck, duck pate', and sausage.

Afra > Daniel tried to break the bone of the lamb with the cleaver, making the dent

Afra > I managed to name most of the spices. Daniel's trying to pry open the lid of the lamb dish

Afra > Cheese, herring, and grilled red bell peppers
