This winter, I fed the birds. My customers were mostly
Black-capped Chickadees,
Whitebreasted Nuthatches, some form of
Tufted Titmouses (Titmice), with
Dark-Eyed Juncos eating off the ice below. I was also lucky to see
Cardinals (the female confused me until the male showed up). I also had several visitors whom I did not identify before they left!
Thanks to Laure for being the enthusiastic enabler when I brought up getting a birdhouse. She also supplied the hanging hook, advocated for more feed, and bought me bird guides, while having to deal with my constant negative grumbling.
First a nuthatch (who like to search for the black oil sunflower seeds and throw the rest down for the poor Juncos), and then a couple of chickadees (who like to line up politely.)
